You may not have heard of it, but there is a world class skincare facility right in the heart of County Wicklow.
Ori-Derm is celebrating its 10th birthday this year, marking its many innovations and looking to the future too.
The company supports the renowned Swedish beauty brand Oriflame by conducting cosmetic studies to prove the functionality of products. The female-led scientific team in Bray is passionate about understanding skin needs and how products can enhance and improve the skin.
With Oriflame selling in over 65 markets around the world, knowing that formulations work is important. Already home to advanced tools including instruments that can measure things like hyperpigmentation and wrinkle characteristics, Ori-Derm is now focusing on the senses.
Along with inviting special guests, consultants and the general public to celebrate its birthday recently, Ori-Derm also launched an innovative sensory testing facility.
Globally our interest in wellness is increasing, from what we put in our bodies and on our skin to how we manage stress. With the new sensory testing facility, the Ori-Derm team can test how textures, fragrances and products make people feel - which is so much a part of why we fall in love with something.
As well as in-house testing, the team collaborates with partners in Asia and Europe, ensuring performance for Oriflame’s global consumers. It is carrying out detailed Age Reflect studies in key markets to better understand skin and the effects of ageing.
Closer to home, the bright and modern facility is a valuable part of the Wicklow community. As well as utilising local talent, from skilled scientists to dedicate panelists, Ori-Derm is also involved in many charities and causes in the area.
For ten years, Ori-Derm scientists and its panelists have ensured consumers around the world can put their trust in Oriflame and expect great results. There are exciting times ahead for the team and with such care and commitment going into skin research, we will all surely benefit.
