Ole launched his eponymous brand in 1984IMAGE: olehenriksen
Danish skincare pro Ole Henriksen was dealing in botanicals, AHAs and holistic approaches to skin long before many other brands. Now his eponymous range has had a colouful refresh and will be available in Ireland from February.
A former dancer, Ole founded his first skincare business, Ole Henriksen of Denmark in LA in 1975, creating the products in his kitchen. From the start, he had a 306deg view of skincare, incorporating wellbeing, diet and general health into his methods and the spa has treated many a famous customer including Madonna, Charlize Theron and Daniel Craig.
Ole, a frontrunner in the use of vitamin C and AHAs in skin health, launched his own skincare brand in 1984 with products like Truth Serum becoming cult classics. In 2011 he sold the company to LVMH-owned brand incubator Kendo, renowned for nurturing brands like Marc Jacobs and Fenty. With Ole continuing to be involved in production and development, the revamped brand is now coming back to Irish stores. Cult formulations remain but products have had a bright colour coded makeover.
