This Irish Sustainable Skincare Brand Needs To Be On Your Radar...

Organic luxury, fresh from the sea

Eco-friendly, gorgeous products to make your skin glow.

Summertime is here, so days by the beach will soon become a reality. Your wardrobe isn’t the only thing that will need an overhaul; you’ll also need to re-evaluate your skincare routine.

Those thick creams and heavy bases should be swapped in favour of light, fresh-as-air formulas. And because we’re more conscious than ever before about what ingredients we put on our skin, we need products which have been created with a delicate hand - kind to us as well as the environment.

Luckily, VOYA’s organic, seaweed-based range contains all of the above.

We spoke to Jessica Hickey, Marketing Manager of VOYA, on hand to offer tips about their sustainability, why they are the perfect in-flight skincare option and their new range of products, created especially for men.

What makes sustainable skincare different?

Sustainable skincare ingredients are grown without harmful pesticides and harvested in a manner that is kind to our planet.

For example, all VOYA products are sent for Soil Association/ COMOS certified organic evaluation to ensure the products are not environmentally damaging and produce the least amount of pollutive agents as possible.

All the VOYA products you put on your skin are not only effective but are also sustainably sourced.

How effective are organic products?

There is a misconception that organic skincare is not as effective as those that contain stronger chemical ingredients, this is not the case.

VOYA’s scientific research confirms that our core ingredient seaweed has a profound effect on the skin's collagen production, increasing moisturisation levels, and elasticity, all the great stuff and important attributes of bright and supple skin.

Illuminating Exfoliating Gel, €45.50, SHOP

How should we change-up our products and skincare routine while travelling?

Ensuring your skin is smooth and bright is a must! Use a facial exfoliator twice a week to gently exfoliate the skin making the complexion appear smoother and brighter.

VOYA’s Radiance Illuminating Exfoliating Gel gently dissolves dead skin cells without rubbing, making it particularly suited to sensitive skin.

We’d also recommend adding body brushing to your daily routine and once a week top up with a VOYA body scrub to keep your skin smooth and supple.

A hydrating mist is ideal to keep in your bag for refreshing on the go.

Facial Spritz Toner, €27.50, SHOP

How can I make sure my skin stays hydrated?

It’s also so important to keep hydrated because did you know that while on an aeroplane, our body is said to be deprived of up to 1.5 litres of water? To that end, VOYA travel facial sets are perfect for those who suffer with dry or sensitive skin or with blemishes and outbreaks.

Available from July, each starter set contains a refreshing Ritzy Spritz toner spray, a soothing Cleanse and Mend cleansing milk and a targeted moisturiser and serum for either dry/dehydrated skin or normal/sensitive skin.

And if you’re a male travelling on the go, VOYA’s new men’s range contains facial products which target their specific concerns, acting against wrinkle creation, enlarged pores, inflammation and dry/dehydrated skin.

The anti-ageing and hydrating properties of wild Irish seaweed combined with active Sea Heather soothes the skin and acts as a protecting layer against the environmental elements and razor burn.

Hydrating Face Mask , €38.50, SHOP

Which ingredients should be avoided if you have sensitive skin?

Avoid products that contain any ingredients that you know react with your skin. If you have particularly sensitive skin, we would suggest avoiding anything too harsh or drying.

Anything from chemical exfoliants or products with high levels of acids as sensitive skin may react unfavourably to them.
