In a coo for alternative brides everywhere, designer Alexis Mabille just dropped three wedding dress styles that – you've guessed it – riff on the shirt dress.
The designer has just dropped a range of classically inspired evening wear which includes three bridal styles that include a nod to the shirt dress and a nod to the tux suit.
The three piece capsule bridal collection, which is sold exclusively on Net-a-Porter celebrates the bow - but not as you know it. Each piece riffs on the bow with chic detailing such as pearl and jewel buttons, to make it look like a tied-at-the-waist shirt sleeve.
Speaking about the collection Mabille regales the pros of the causal-cool bride, saying: “Clients and friends often ask me to dress them for their wedding, special occasions and galas. They want looks that are cool and make them feel beautiful, but they either don’t have time or don’t want to wait months for a made-to-measure piece. So I decided to transcribe some of the styles from my evening collection in beautiful whites and silver to create elegant and chic bridal dresses. The idea was to make shopping for a wedding dress as easy as shopping for any other kind of outfit.”
Die-hard fans of the tux will also delight in this nod to a double-breasted suit – perfect for the bride who is experiencing the white-tux-or-white-dress conundrum.
Considering we're already fans of the brand this yet another reason to love Alexis' trademark insouciant style. We say? Long the live the slightly-casual bride.
