Nadine Reid doesn’t do things by halves; she made history as the first plus-size woman of colour to grace a magazine cover and host an Irish TV show.
What makes her shine in everything she does – be it as a reporter, TV presenter or makeup artist – is her authenticity. She struggles, she says, “to be anyone other than herself” – and it shows. “I have spent time practising feeling comfortable being myself…. and I don’t judge my faults as much. I take the lesson and move on,” she said previously.
Originally from Birmingham, she came to Dublin in 2015 and after 10 years as a successful makeup artist for MAC, longed to spread her wings in a different direction. And since rising to prominence after a breakout year in 2018 after being hired initially as a guest reporter while double jobbing as a makeup artist, she has received a welcome response from women around the country thanking her for representing them on-screen or the page.
Style all her own
She loves fashion as much as she loves life, bringing fresh femininity to everything she wears. Nadine adores the colour and vibrancy that you see in traditional dresses in the west of Africa, and describes her style as a mix of her Caribbean and African roots mixed with the chicness of Dynasty and Parisian couture.

Even looking at her Instagram feed, you can’t help but stop mid-scroll; this is a woman who is truly comfortable in her own skin and she is luminous in every photograph, as bubbly as her infectious personality is on screen. She is refreshingly unfiltered, something that her fans particularly favour.
Whoever you are; your size, your age, your sexuality, your ability, where you’re from, don’t let that hold you back, please.
She’s had career highs aplenty this year, from rubbing shoulders with the likes of Melissa McCarthy on glamorous red carpets, attending Oscar parties to being nominated for ‘Best Newcomer’ at the recent VIP Style Awards and of course, her win at our WOTYA.
She has said previously that she is constantly evolving and on a journey to simply being the “best Nadine I can be.” Living your best life is Nadine's motto and we can’t see her doing anything but.
